Mural Fest brings people together to celebrate South Salt Lake’s street art scene and the artistic flavor of the area. Our current events are listed below.
Mural Fest is a project by the South Salt Lake Arts Council. Help keep public art alive by making on online donation to the Arts Council today!
Artist Meet-and-Greet
Meet the artist at each mural stop, along with musical entertainment. Disembark from your tour at our “celebration station” at 300 East along the S-Line to enjoy food trucks, live music, and an interactive mural experience.
Win Big!
During Mural Fest, visit each mural for your chance to win a Kilby Block Party 4-Day pass, or one of four pairs of passes to Grid City Music Festival. How to win–scan the QR code on the “Official Artist” sign at each mural location to complete the entry form. Increase your odds by visiting as many of the 2025 murals as you can and entering at each mural site. We will be announcing bonus entry locations leading up to Mural Fest, like the bonus entry attendees will get at the Artist Panel and National Mural Awards Ceremony.
Prizes up for grab:
Join us for an exciting all-ages event featuring a moderated artist panel by some of this year’s Mural Fest artists with a live Q&A session, followed by the National Mural Awards ceremony. The 2025 Mural Award winners from across the country will be honored, and a special Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented.
Attendees will have an extra opportunity to win a pair of weekend passes Kilby Block Party, or one of four pairs of passes to South Salt Lake’s own Gird City Music Festival. Scan the QR code at the event for your bonus entry.
Mural Fest is partnering with National Mural Awards this year to celebrate the community-building power of murals and present awards to the top winning mural artists for 2024. The evening will include a panel discussion by some of this year’s Mural Fest artists with a Q&A session, followed by the National Mural Awards presentation.
Full details and registration coming soon.
We call it a self-guided tour because you get to decide what murals to go see and in what order. Whether you walk or bike, follow our route or make your own, the goal is to have fun, celebrate community, and meet the artists who created the murals. So take your time, enjoy the views, and meet some new friends.
Drive – Free parking is available at our main party location at Main St and Bowers Way, with overflow at South Salt Lake City Hall (200 E Morris Ave). You can hop on the Fun Bus for a free ride to each mural location.
UTA – Taking public transportation to Mural Fest is not only encouraged, but we’re giving out free passes on a first come first serve basis. Passes will be good for the full day on May 10, 2025 (and only on this day). Use it to take a UTA Bus, TRAX, or Front Runner to South Salt Lake. Disembark TRAX at Central Pointe Station and hop on the S-Line to get to the murals. We recommend disembarking the S-Line at 500 East and starting your self-guided mural route from this point. But you have many options.
To get your free UTA pass, visit one of our participating location from May 1-4, 2025 to grab yours while passes last.
